I must say that i liked what Othello Aubern did on their 1st release on Le Cabanon and that i like this release on 3OP just as much.
They never seems to stop to amaze me with their meticulously crafted sounds and syncopation's that are to die for.
And add to that their non linear way of production and you have an electronic gem like this.
I so got to get hold of that UBS or i'll have a major gap in my little collection!
Highly recommended.

Othello Aubern are French electronic musicians Clovis Lemée and Thomas Pujols.
You might already know their sensational respective solo work as Horla and Nebulo : OA is an anagram of both their monikers by the way. The title of the album was generated using the same process, though the original words remain unknown.
The 8 tracker was made swapping MIDI and audio files between France and Taïwan over the course of two month-long sessions, using an array of software and hardware bits. [/facts].
Pace Serpente came as a total surprise for us : we first contacted Thomas to release with us, who quickly sent us half of the current LP. Elliott and I were instantly floored by what we heard : sublime sharpness and immediate intricacies, a brilliantly paradox-bending body of work.
Months passed, and we finally received the mixdowns of the eight pieces. To put it simply, the whole was even better : every second of Pace Serpente makes the rest more impactful and memorable. I'm not exactly sure of the original intent of the artists, so please keep in mind that what I'm typing is highly subjective here : Pace Serpente feels like the finest, most noble and crucial pop music of the year 4000.
Don't get me wrong, the timbres are meticulously refined and overall sound-design and production are lazer-precise : masterful work in that regard.
The melodies and grooves make this LP unique : you'll compulsively whistle the countless goosebumps inducing killer hooks Pace Serpente offers. It's a concise album that begs to be listened to on repeat : it'll reveal endless finesse every time you dive in.
Transcendent, captivating, perfect record.

Transcendant, captivant, parfait.

When Calum Gunn delivers everything from slow bubbly tracks to downright high tension aggressiveness in the field of his choice, experimental electronic computer music you know you are in for a treat.
There's not a dull moment on this wicked gem of a release and it puts a big smile on my face.
A must have USB from my point of view. Finn of Tomland
